On 5th December 2022, Westports has initiated women empowerment in port operation with 17 new female staff joining us as Terminal Tractor Operator, followed by the next intake group. The new joiners are mainly from Pulau Indah, Klang, Kedah, Pahang, and Johor. Women are increasingly present at the workplace in the port sector, which was once a male-dominated field. Over the years, Westports Malaysia has made significant progress in not only strengthening the port and maritime industry, but also developing the surrounding community, especially for the women empowerment.
